  they had crucified him,* 24 they <crucify> him,*
          they cast lots
  they divided his garments   and <divide> his garments   to divide his garments
  among them   among them
  by casting lots;   by casting lots;
      to decide
      what each should take.
    25 And it was the third hour,
      when they crucified him.

[see Luke 23:33]

36 then they sat down

 [[  ]] Manuscript evidence for the bracketed words is divided. They are attested in the original text of codices Sinaiticus, Alexandrinus, later uncials and all patristic texts, but they are omitted by the oldest papyrus codex of Luke (p75) as well as by most early parchment codices (including Vaticanus and Bezae Cantabrigiensis).  To complicate matters the first corrector of codex Sinaiticus marked them for deletion, while a later editor restored them. Thus, it is uncertain whether they were from the original text of Luke or were an early popular interpolation.
