 S45    AGAINST  PUBLIC  FASTING
Matt 6  Mark Luke Didache 8
16 "And when you fast      1  Let not your fasts
  do not look dismal       be
  like the hypocrites       with the hypocrites,
  for they disfigure their faces       for so they
  that their fasting may be seen       fast
  by men.       on Mondays and Thursdays,
  Truly, I say to you,
  they have their reward.
17 But when you fast,       but you are to fast
  anoint your head       on Wednesdays and Fridays.
  and wash your face,
18 that your fasting may not be seen
  by men
  but by your Father who is in secret;
  and your Father who sees in secret
  will reward you."
