32 Then  1  In those days,  
      when again  
      a great crowd had gathered,  
      and they had nothing to eat,  
  Jesus called his disciples to him   he called his disciples to him,  
  and said,   and <says> to them,  
  "I have compassion on the crowd, 2 "I have compassion on the crowd,  
  because they have been with me   because they have been with me  
  now three days,   now three days  
  and have nothing to eat;   and have nothing to eat;  
  and I am unwilling 3 and if I  
  to send them away hungry,   send them away hungry  
      to their homes,  
  lest they faint on the way."   they will faint on the way;

      some of them have come a long way."  
33 And the disciples <say> to him, 4 And his disciples answered him,  
  "Where are we to get   "How can one feed* these men  
  bread enough   with bread  
  in the desert   here in the desert?"

  "How many loaves have you?"   "How many loaves have you?"

"Seven,    "Seven."
