"Woe to you,   47 "Woe to you,
  scribes and Pharisees,
for you build      for you build
the tombs of the prophets     the tombs of the prophets
  and adorn the monuments
  of the righteous,

  'If we had lived
in the days of our fathers,     whom your fathers
we would not have taken part

Thus you witness

So you are witnesses
against yourselves     and consent to the deeds

and you build their tombs."

Fill up, then,

the measure of your fathers.

You serpents,

how are you going to escape
