  spat in   to spit on him,   mocked him
  his face,   and to cover his face,    
  and struck him;   and to strike him,   and beat him;
  and some slapped him,        
        64 they also blindfolded him
68 saying, "Prophesy to us,   saying to him, "Prophesy!"   and asked him, "Prophesy!
  you Christ! **      
  Who is it that struck you?" **     Who is it that struck you?"
      And the guards received him    
      with blows.    
        65 And they spoke
          many other words against him,
          reviling him.

 

**Note: In one 4th c. codex known as the Freer gospels & a few later mss. Mark 14:65 includes wording identical with Matt 26:68. But the words after "Prophesy" in Matt are not found here in other early codices (Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, Bezae Cantabrigiensis) or papyri.
