**Note: The critical text presented here follows Codices Sinaiticus & Vaticanus in reading simply
"the temple" in Matt 21:12 (like Mark & Luke). The RSV follows Codex Bezae Cantabrigiensis & the majority of later mss. in adding "of God." That reading is suspect, however, since Matthew generally uses circumlocutions for the divine name (except in a few places where Mark also uses "God").
