  A  LAWYER  QUESTIONS  JESUS
Matt Mark Luke 10
     25  And behold, a lawyer stood up
      and put him to the test,
      saying, "Teacher,

what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

26

He said to him,

"What is written in the law?
      How do you read?"

27*

And he answered,

[see Matt 22:37]

[see Mark 12:30]

"You shall love the Lord your God
      with all your heart,

and with all your soul,
      and with all your strength,
      and with all your mind;

[see Matt 22:39]

[see Mark 12:31]

and your neighbor as yourself."

28

And he said to him,
      "You have answered right;
      do this, and you will live."

*Note: A conflated paraphrase of Deut 6:4 and Lev 19:18. Matthew and Mark report this summary of basic laws as a saying of Jesus. Compare pericope 277.
