-- to a dogmatist

                                                      I AM---the way,
                                                                 the truth
                                                               and the life.
                                                             -- John 14:6

So, you refuse to change, eh?
Then how am I to tell
if you're alive---you, who fear
all novelty lest you leave
the solid truth of old traditions,
should know that truth is life.
But life can only be preserved
by movement.  Anything
that does not develop is dead.
Was all the truth already said
in what was written long ago?
I'll 'but' you to elaborate on that.
