Lucius Cornelius Cinna   [ ? - 84 BCE]

father-in-law of Julius Caesar.
Ally & last chief lieutenant of social reformer Marius.
Rival of dictator Sulla.


After Marius' death (86
BCE), Cinna-- as surviving consul -- confiscated Sulla's property & instigated the slaughter of the dictator's supporters. He was killed by his own soldiers in a mutiny as Sulla returned to Rome.
