Messiah Apocalypse  [4Q521]

Five small fragments from cave 4 at Qumran describing an eschatological judgment in which a Messiah presides over the resurrection of the righteous & destruction of the accursed. This text has become the focus of scholarly debate since its publication in 1992 because it links raising the dead & good news to the poor like the Christian text in which Jesus answers John the Baptist's question about whether he is the "one to come" (Matt 11:2-5//Luke 7:20-22).
